A visit to Blenheim Palace

Mindy Milne has organised a coach trip to Blenheim Palace, and hopes you would like to join her! The aim is to get there by 11 a.m. in time for Coffee/Tea and Biscuits in a private room, where the group will be given a talk entitled “Hatches, Matches and Dispatches!” This talk looks at the well-known and less well known historic members of the family, along with their servants, and how their many births, (not all from the right side of the blanket!) betrothals and deaths at Blenheim were celebrated, arranged or best forgotten! We will then be given a private guided tour of the Palace with the opportunity afterwards to have lunch in the Water Terrace restaurant. As the birthplace of arguably England’s greatest politician, there is also a permanent exhibition on the life of Winston Churchill included, and the entrance fee also entitles people to walk in the Palace grounds and admire the Capability Brown – designed surrounding parkland. For further details please call Mindy on 01672 520260 or email her at mindymilne@btinternet.com
