2018’s Great British Spring Clean Launched

GBSC 18

At Marlborough Area Board’s last meeting, 2018’s Great British Spring Clean was launched.  Building on the success from the last two years, this year’s litter pick aims to do even better!

In 2017 over 150 events took place, involving 3,200 volunteers and collecting just over 18 tons of litter from Wiltshire’s open spaces.

Lets help keep the Marlborough community area a beautiful place to live, work, play and visit.

For more information about organising your litter pick, recruiting your volunteers and arranging equipment, please contact Andrew Jack, Marlborough’s Community Engagement Manager on 01225 713109 or andrew.jack@wiltshire.gov.uk  Or visit Wiltshire Council’s website at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/cleanupwilts

The Great British Spring Clean is part of the Clean Up Wilts campaign.  Every year, Wiltshire Council spends £2.5million on litter picking, dropped by residents, tourists and from fly-tipping.  Through Clean Up Wilts, we hope to educate people and change litter dropping habits, which will allow the £2.5million to be spend in better ways serving the county.
